How the hell someone who was only with their father a few shirt years learn so dam much... Especially with all the wives? Also if America is THAT bad, why did he send you guys here? Older white teacher, wanting to add something new to her curriculum. I went out and was like, oh I see you have an interest in urban fiction? She s never read any of these books. She said no Misty (white girl) reads across the board and offered her help. I I formed her that those books wouldn't be appropriate for a college course and could possibly insult her "basic grammar" students intelligence. I recommended native sons, invisible man, kindred. Okay I read this book a few years ago, and although I feel it was well written, I absolutely grew to dislike Midnight. I also feel as though Sista went too far into detail when describing certain things... Please dont let ne get into the AA female stereotypes...But that's not my point.

My office is located in a college LRC, and I overhear a random white girl recommending this book to her teacher as a possible urban novel for her class. THE KICKER... she describes it as being accurate and a fair assessment of the black community. I want to I intervene and correct her student, but I'm just going to ignore. What would you do? The professor and I work in different departments...
