are the ones that are confused not using a braid pattern that allows their hair to lay completely flat against their head?

if you do not use the correct braid pattern this will happen

I can get my wigs into flat ponytails

I've been weaving since I was a teen and the circular braiding pattern was all I knew in the beginning. I use a few different braid patterns now. Anyways, here are a few videos to help. 
 
I am not in anyway associated with this salon. I studied the videos posted on their YT page to perfect my technique. Thank you.

I slant mines upwards and sew it tight before pulling
The next weft upwards (not sure if that makes sense)

I found this instagramer from the sassy mitchell page. I am VERY impressed with the ponytails, looks very flat.
