I'm subbed to Taren but rarely watch her vids. She's very whiny and self-absorbed imo. I don't think there's anything wrong with people taking off for this event but I wouldn't have.

Nothing wrong with taking off of work to do whatever you find important enough to do. Some people have lots of PTO hours and have that luxury......To bad it was overbooked. She is a beautiful lady with gorgeous natural hair. Like others have stated youtube celebrity can be just as popular as TV celebrity. That sucks.. but meh, It was free.
I read on LHCF that she came out and did a "met & greet" and apologized to those standing in line.

Its not like Beyonce was waiting inside of the event. .. So yea-- Ermm @ those that came from "across the country".. please getcho life.

No way in hell I would have been waiting in line for HOURS for some random that I can watch on youtube in the comfort of my living room.

I would have gathered a few of those nice natural haired ladies and hit a lounge.

She's pretty to me.  As far as the situation.....I don't feel she is wrong.  The person responsible for confirming should be held accountable.
 
As far as taking off of work.....I take off of work for anything going on that interests me and I have the days to use.  I take off for Anime conventions.  I'd take off if I had the opportunity to go to a Zumba weekend.  If I were into natural hair and a fan of Taryn like that i'da taken off for that.  *shrugs*

i never really understood the Taren appeal (Ermmyeah maybe i do) but i dont get following someone who doesnt look like you or has hair like yours.

i thought it was funny that she was going to give away that afro painting to this girl that was crying about her hair but the girl had left, so taren just kept it (on the girls behalf) instead of giving it away to someone elseLOL
