I normally get a 14 or 16 inch unit, and because I am tall they fall a bit below my shoulders. This is the longest unit I have ordered. The reason I got a much longer unit, is because there are so many Japanese hairstyles and its best to have longer hair. 

I am also learning about filling in my eyebrows, its a work in progress.

If you are going for a more natural look:
- Everyone likes long hair but long hair is not so suited for a long face. It makes the face look even longer so try having the hair professionally cut shorter (shoulder length) and layered for fullness. That way your face will appear .. wider.
 
- Also, you need some few baby hairs around the edges so that it merges in with the unit.
 
Lastly, I think you need to have your eyebrows shaped .. and filled in A BIT with dark brow eyebrow pencil. Don't draw them on though. Use short strokes to fill them in buu only after they have been professionally shaped. As it is - your brows are very thin/light which does not match the color/density/thickness of the unit.

Yes there are some. I'm afraid to go. Just in case they mess up. I'll post updated pictures of the unit. It look much better now that I've done a bit more to it. With practice, you'll get better at tweaking to unit to your liking, see it's already getting easier for you. Smile

As far as what else to do with the unit, do you have any beauty schools in your area?  They can shape it up for you for a minimal fee.

The unit has not been washed or styled yet. Perhaps I should have done that before posting pictures. I have tried Davlyn it's seems to be easier, and I didn't glue the baby hair like before n the glue I used before was bad. Davlyn was easier to use. I do want to get it styled. I will wash it and see if the shine comes out more.

The cap was too small from the hairline to nap. It was an inch shorter than what I ordered. So I steamed the unit to stretch the cap. I have a small forehead and head over all so I always have to get custom units. I am not sure what else to do to this unit. I will just work a lot and maybe order a different one. I'm still learning, and maybe this doesn't suit me as much. Have you washed the unit? 

Have you tried Ghostbond or Davlyn?  Don't glue the baby hairs down and try to modify the hair line. If you keep gluing the baby hair down you may need to trim them or leave a little bit of lace at the front so you can grasp it and make sure you're gluing the lace instead of the hair.  But, when doing so, make sure the lace blends.  

The hair looks like it should be styled and maybe some nice layers to frame your face.

The knots were breeched by the vendor. I really like the texture of the hair and I just want it to look more natural. Perhaps next time I will just get normal light yaki. You shouldn't use baby powder on a human hair unit....that trick was intended for synthetic wigs. You should wash with a clarifying shampoo,condition and just let it air dry with no additional products. That should help reduce the sheen. 

 I would suggest bleaching the knots if they aren't, try Sexi's silicon tape trick or even a coban bandage with some makeup goes a long way in making the scalp look realistic.

 Sounds and looks like you tied your perimeter down without the glue drying completely and that's probably the cause of the baby hairs getting stuck. After the glue is dry THEN tie down your perimeter with the baby hairs completely brushed back. Ghostbond is a pretty easy glue to work with and gives a lot of people great hold. Spirit gum and tape also give a great hold, you might want to consider tape as another option. 

You might also need to tweeze the part and your hairline a bit but try everything else first and see what happens before you do that. If you really need to, go SLOWLY so you don't take out too much hair.

@ilovelife I have looked up all of the videos online, and read many threads on here. I am dyslexic and reading/ watching does not always help me. I need a bit more. That is why I am reaching out for help.  I have never tried with a unit and I have went through a lot if 8 months and wanted this to be part of my makeover. I am trying my very best.

 The reason I couldn't glue the unit down right was because I was using salon pro professional glue, not the 30 second hold is it stringy and doesn't work. I know the unit needs work to make it look more natural. I don't really know what to do besides taking away the shine, and going to the salon to get the front layered so that its not as thick.

I used the glue to try and hold it down.

Today I went to my TV production class, and used spirit gum. It worked ok and lasted the whole 4 hours of the class. I have tried cutting my units before into a style and ruined them. I will order some other adhesives later. I have Davlyn green, and will try it tomorrow.

I am really trying. This time I want to make things right and look great. I am happy with how the unit is made, and I understand that all units need tweaking to make them look better on each person.

When I said the knots are tight I meant just that. There is no shedding, tangling, and I have tried to put it in a ponytail, but it doesn't look natural. I want to do my best to work with it so that it looks better on me. All I'm asking for is help, thats all. I need more time to learn things than others, so please be patient with me.

Nice looking unit Yuki, but I agree that the unit needs a little help in not looking wiggy on you.  I think the main problem is in the lack of a defined part and being able to see where the part meets your forehead.  I don't want to recommend tweezing yet, because it could just be the hair puffing up in that area.  You can try a silicon product to assist in the hair poof, and remember to tie it down at night.

For glues, I think that GB is great to use for beginners.  I use Chromedome's tip of preparing my front perimeter with a paste of baking soda, and then rinsing it off.  The baking soda helps to balance the pH of your skin.  

I use bobby pins and water to help keep the baby hairs out of the way when I'm using glue. In the event you do get glue there, you can run a  fine-toothed comb through the hair to help remove it (another tip I picked up from a member).  

I find that I get a better application with GB using my fingers, but I also used those 2-sided makeup applicators that are pointy on one end and broad on the other.

When you say the knots are tight, the knots should be tight, you don't want the hair to shed. Smile  You were probably referring to something else.  What are you using to secure your nape?

Its kind of hard to explain the process of gluing the unit down, have you seen any youtube videos? I'm old school so I started out watching Miss Lola who I believe still has videos on YT. The unit itself is so important in getting a good application and the unit looks nice but its also looks like a wig, not sure if your going for that kind of look though. I know this sounds so cliche and honestly I am not trying to preach at you but there is a bunch of information on getting a good application in the newbie threads. 
the method that sugabana is referring to is a method one of the members created named Tootsie and her method is in the regular section and I believe there is even a video as well. But honestly YT is really good because you get to see it all in action :) 
Also as far as glue I would say start with Davelyn Black, hair direct is a good source of information as well, they sell adhesives and they have great videos too.

To be honest I really want to learn how to glue my unit down. I don't have the skills to saw things on my unit. I don't want to mess up and ruin it. 

Do you guys think it looks natural enough. The density is light to medium. So Its not too thin of think. My natural hair is really thin, but super healthy. I have length but no thickness.

^This. And you may want to add a tad of Got2b ultra glued (its actually a gel) in the front to secure from any movement. It washes off with water and you can remove your unit at the end of the day easliy.

So a few months ago I decided to ordered my longest unit. I requested extra light yaki. Its a bit shinny, but the texture itself is very lose to my hair texture when straighten. This is my 5th unit I have ordered in my whole life. I have ordered 3 units from Whatwig and have been pleased.

Here comes the confession. I have been wearing or playing around with full lace wigs since 2007 when  I got my first one. I tried to put it on but it was hard. My other units I have glued down and only wore them like a traditional wig. Well there are so many different things I want to now do with my hair, I tried to apply to unit and I keep gluing the baby hair down and not the lace. :( I clip it back but still it does not work. When I wear the unit its gets a bit I wouldn't say puffy but messy. HA Ha so I need sleeking balm, and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I look stuff up but help. I also need it to look more natural when pulled back. I think I have to put baby powder on it. I am also having a hard time putting it in a pony tail. I know the knots are still tights, but after they loosen a bit, will it be easier?

The unit is extra light yaki chinese 18 inch, color 2.

ps I hate tape and can' use it. what glue is best for a week hold with oily skin and is easy for a beginner?
