Got my second treatment and it was way better than the 1st. I used the numbing cream 1 hour before going this time. The cringes and ouches weren't that bad this time. My chin area is getting alot better. They sold me this ingrown pads thing like the clearasil pads that eliminates ingrown hairs.

Wow that's amazing results! Did your dark spots improve only from getting the laser treatments? I finally got the laser done and just did my 2nd treatment last weekend, I found a really good deal. I got it on my stomach, lower back, chin, and full brazilian with the elos laser. I saw very obvious results on my bikini 2-3 weeks after my first treatment since that is the darkest, coarsest hair. A lot of the hair had shed and there was lots of bald spots so it was just really patchy. However, the bald spots weren't completely bald by my next treatment since it was the next phase of hair coming in. Does anyone have any other forums they go to for information about laser. I decided that I should try to grab a groupon deal for laser hair removal because my "beard" area if just awful with scars from ingrowns and I would really like to feel like I can leave the house without makeup. The problem with the groupons are that everytime I check reviews on any of the spas they have very so so reviews. And I live in Seattle and it seems impossible to find someone with knowledge of dark skin and laser ( researching online). While researching online I also saw reviews that say you'd be better off with a dermatologist but there is no way I would afford that anytime soon. Well all I really want done is the area right outside where panties cover on my inner thigh because that is the problem area for me, but if I can find a reasonable price to just get the entire thing, then I'll consider it. In my case I needed 6 treatment,after that maintenance. 
1 treatment every 6 weeks or so
The maintenance phase 3 times a year or so... 
Just to clarify the shaving after the treatments. It is really 2-3 strands of hair.The hair that hasn't been touch by the laser.In my case its the hair hidden in the inner most part of the labia major,near to the clitoris and 2-3 strands on the side almost on my thigh.I shave once between treatment,and it takes me about 2 min. Every time I see that I let her know where I still have those kind of grow so she make sure it is taking care of. That is why it is important to have somebody who is throughout,don't rush,and listen to you, they can miss those hard to reach spot.

 You will see result results after the second to third treatment. You will notice your hair growing back thiner,more sparingly and slower. Normally by then you won't have any bump or ingrown hair.You will still need to shave but fewer hair and while shaving you won't experience any ingrown hair . It just get better after each treatment.  After the 12 treatments , or whatever session they will judge you need to complete the process, you will have to maintain. The maintaining session cost less and you will need to do it less frequently, You might still need to shave between treatment but less frequently, just one hair here and there,and no bump or ingrown hair . 
Just make sure you find a good place, the results really depend on that! Luckily for me I didn't purchase the package. I tried one place, they were not throughout.I knew that at the end I would have to do more treatment because they were missing spot, were going to fast,... I found another place after a disappointing first treatment and I am so happy I didn't purchase the package.
Each place has a different definition of what "bikini line" mean. For some its the entire bikini ,pubis,labia majora to the anus(most cost effective) but you can still ask them to leave a strip of hair in the middle. For others , "bikini line" is only the pubis,...Make sure you know what they mean by bikini line, and the price justify the area covered.

Laser hair removal has been one of most life changing things I have ever done. My neck/Chin has 3 more sessions and I have 2 more side burns and chest area two more.  I wish I could figure out how to post pics on this site. Its's a dramatic difference!!!
 
My skin no longer peels from the harsh tend skin I used to use, no more puss and hair bumps. It's smooth to touch. There are still a lot of dark marks but have gotten better since I dont at the area. I plan on doing some acid peels after I'm done with laser treatment.

So i finished my three treatments and i feel Confused about my results. The three treatments got rid of the thicker diameter hairs but Im still getting growth from the finer hairs, a lot more growth actually. i got another groupon for $149  for 6 tratments but my first appt wont eb for 6 weeks.

Hi Ladies!!! Glad to see everyone doing well.... STiLL no new ingrown hairs under my neck and chinSmile All of them are gone.I'm so happy. I have my third session on Monday. I still have dense hair on my chin but its less hairs. I deciced to get my side burns and upper lip done as well. My first treatment was last tuesday. The laser lady even did my checks as a freebie. I get ingrowns there once in a while as well. I'm still please with the results. The fact that I have no ingrown hair makes a world of difference. I feel much more confident now. I live in the DFW area and have gone to two different places...my armpits were done at Smooth Solutions...the ambiance was nothing but they had good customer service and the girls that are fuzz buzzing you are nice and take care of you trying to keep the area cool and reduce the pain...making the experience great...for six pit treatments it cost $214...at Novopelle I found a full body treatment for 1099 ish which is cheaper now and I had the Brazilian option for the girlie area...the ambiance is nice but it is the worst customer service...they are always late...there is some chick in the back never working and always putting on makeup...and they can be hella rude...I read a post that someone said the place was ghetto...when I went for a consultation they were nice and the place looked nicer than Smooth Solutions...but as soon as I paid for my package they changed and I understood why someone said it was ghetto...oh wait...they are nice to other Latin customers...so if you are Latin you will get excellent customer service...mostly because they think they cannot talk smack about you in Spanish...also...when they buzz you at Novopelle...they do nothing to soothe or cool your skin during treatment...so you are on FIRE...one girl did try to use a wet paper towel...like wth...Smooth Solutions uses the cold gel and cold air...

From both, I get really great results...however I did get some bad reactions from Novopelle because they did nothing to soothe the skin but that was temporary and nothing horribly bad...I wish I took pictures...I have two more on the full body package and my legs are completely hair free...the bush needs the extra two and my face is good as well...I need to touch up the pits for what little hair that came back but I will go back to Smooth Solutions.

NO doctor can't be that certain how many tx you will need.   I think my Dr told me from jump street "keep coming until it stops and them occasionally I would have to come in for a tx.  I get my chin done well let me say I use to get it done  Clap.  Now I may go 1 time a year.  My chin is smooth as a "baby's bottom" and I'm loving it!  Thank you JESUS!

HEY LADIES What's up!  I'm glad I found this thread too!!!!  I have posted about my laser tx somewhere around here but I'm just happy this thread is here!!! OMG!!!

I'm in Chicago.  I go to Dr. Jonith Breadon she has 1/2 price days at least once a month!  I do in know way work for her or get any type of kick-back!  Once I started my laser treatments a couple of years ago I would see African American women with unwanted hair issues.  I would try to start a conversation with them in the hopes of being able to share about the GREATNESS of the laser.  I don't come on here to often so anyone needing info from me can pm me!

i had 4 sessions done to my underarms, and by the third it was barely growing back, so after the 4th they said thats all i'd need. fast forward a month and a half and every bit of the hair has grown back!!! im so dissapointed  and am debating on if i should go back for a few more treatments or not! they said over the years id need "touchups" but this is waay to soon! so whats ya'll opinion-should i go back?
-to everyone whos had there underarms done, how many treatments did it take to rid the hair and make it not grow back? && also is this a permanent solution for everyone?
