IA!  I think that the hairline was perfect, but the white glow around the hairline screwed it up.

Tyra has had some really, really good units at times, but her app lets her down sometimes. This would've been perfect if she'd maybe used less glue or gone over the edges with some alcohol to get rid of some of the white. This was when she spent good money on her units, the quality of her wigs declined as time went on. I found out that the guy who does B's wigs, Erwin Kupitz, also does all of Angelina Jolie's wigs. The first time she worked with him was in 'Gone in 60 Seconds' and they've worked together ever since.

I've always thought her looked boom in this movie. As a side note, I think this movie was pre-nose job. She was beautiful anyway but it's weird how a rhinoplasty like kind of perfected her face, cos her angles are amazzzing.


I'm assuming the first time Beyoncé discovered lace wigs was when he made the wigs for her in 'Austin Powers 3'. She always used to wear those extensions that were just braided at the root and then the rest left out up til this point and then she done Goldmember and then never looked back I guess.

Apparently the reason he gets paid like $50,000 to make a unit for his celeb clients is because of the fast turn around. Like if they want a nice unit ready in 3 days, then they pay top dollar for it, which is understandable cos that is some hard work.

Because the lacefront is more realistic than a regular wig. Especially when the character has to wear crazy character makeup. The lace front lays flatter of course around the edges this allows for more precision believable character make up. The lacefront has been used a long long time in stage and film. I really feel it is just a upgraded wig, someone figured out a better way to make a wig look more realistic....I only find myself looking at the wigs if they look really bad because it can be so distracting to hair people like us. I really think that Kelly's hair is braided and then sprayed gold in this shot.  With a template around his face to prevent overspray. 

Yeah it looks like it's just spray painted.

This was a really good thread I thought, so I thought it'd be good to get it going again as I find movie hair fascinating.

I've talked about it before, but I think Meryl's hair in 'The Iron Lady' looked pretty good. Becky mentioned something about Hair Direct making their wigs with a hairline that is slightly lighter in colour than the rest of the unit because that's what natural hair is like and they've done that with the units in this film; I quite like the effect. It won the Oscar for Hair & Make Up which I think was really well deserved.

I honestly do not understand why movie wigs are SO damn thick! Well movie and 'celeb' wigs. Like obvs the really good ones are so good that we can't tell, loll, but the ones that we know are wigs are unrealistically thick, I just don't get it, it's HARDER to make a wig thicker.

I think Rachel McAdams' one looks the best so far
