Holly was my go to vendor in 2008 and 2009 but I had to break up with her after I got two bad units in a row from her. The unit in my avi is from 2008 and I just started wearing it again about a month ago. The hair is still strong and manageable after LOTS of wear. Her hair quality was great back then but then the hair quality seemed to decline for a while. OP how long do your Holly units tend to last you? It is a large cap, 23" circumferece, 16-18" in length, I would say a color combo of #2 on the roots, and 6 and 8 throughout.. The cap is a light brown color, with stretch in the middle. The cap has NO holes, glue, tears, it is in excellant condition because I did not wear it, hoping to sell it. The hair is still buttery soft. If you'd like pics, let me know, and send an email!

I had two units like that and I did a bleach bath and use hair 1 then cowboy magic and its now as silky as ever .where do you live I can send you a little cowboy magic and after the bleach bath get you some hair 1 and with the cw it should be better Wink

LaTreMagnifique welcome to the board.  In the future you may want to start your own thread instead of posting questions within someone else thread.  There's a lace front newbie section below this section for these type questions.  But to answer your question - Yes it is normal to pay more for a custom unit because it's just that "custom" to fit you.  You don't make mention if you measured your head but the great thing about a custom is you can see your actual measurement; temple to temple, ear to ear, front to nape etc. to the vendor and get a wig that better fits your head.  With a stock unit you may not have a great fit if your head proportion doesn't fit the stock measurement for a small, medium or large unit.  Good luck with your first unit and create a thread downstairs if you have more questions.
