Thanks for the link. So here is my question, What are you going to do now... One of my favorite authors made a comment about why she doesn't watch the news. Essentially she said that television stations were teaching us NOT to act. The stories we see on the news are individual tragedies that we can do nothing about. We can only shake our heads and be afraid. That's what we do about everything, talk about it, say how terrible it is, and DO NOTHING.

If you saw the movie, if you are enlightened, if you know better.. what are you doing. Whats next?

This is a kind of a response to the post about an apology to black folks. DH and I discussed this a few months ago and he was expressing his belief that an apology and reparations were needed. My opinion is this, a fake apology won't turn back time or replace whats been lost. There is no amount of money that will heal us after whats been done. At this moment in time, Blacks in America are some of the most prosperous of people of color anywhere else. We spend billions of dollars buying hair, name brand clothing and making other people rich. We don't invest in ourselves, support black business, or cooperate.

I could go on, the point is, we have the opportunity to change the world. To unite, and work together and build something instead of waiting on someone to give us something. The first step to that is not to wait on an apology from yt folks, but to act and get what we want.
