I use regular black gel (dont know the brand) then I put a little bit of black Beeswax on top. I tie a scarf for about 10 minutes and I'm good to go. The only thing that works for me is Eco styler gel (olive oil kind). I put some on every other day to minimize build up. I like hick's but it can be a bit pricy at time. my alternative well be murrys beewax or ors edge control

I caught wind of a trick on curly Nikki's blog. After trying a ton of "edge tamers" with little to no success, I've finally found a trick that works.
Pure Shea butter! At night, put some pure Shea butter on your edges. Then tie a scarf around your edges and go to sleep!
