...um no honey, I said it is painless except for when they are doing the numbing of the scalp areas with the needle and that is just a little stinging like at the dentist when they put the needle in to numb u. Lawd chile I HATE PAIN!!..so i would not lie to ya.Wink


...meanwhile I am getting impatient as hell and sooo damn tired of wearing my lace wig.Angry It will be 6 months come Nov. 4 and my growth is not noticeable yet.Cry LOLI read that the first hairs come in very thin and wispy and clear in color so u will not be able to see them, but by the 8-12th months is when the hairs begin to thicken and darken and u will start to notice them filling in. I am so impatient. I can't wait to rock my TWA...and i think i will dye it. (already bought the color I want lol) I have already found some good products that my natural hair is responding well to.

I feel ya, my hair is tightly coily also, really tight, lol. First you have to come to terms and work with your texture that is part of the battle. Then next work on your moisture levels. No product in the world even the best quality product will keep your hair moisturized if your hair is overly porous. And most tightly coily hair is overly porous.  It is also about Ph balance of products. Eliminate shampoo with sulfates. Go to using cleansers or conditioner washes. Lisa Rachel cleanser, VO5 tea tree conditioner, Roux porosity control conditioner are ph balanced for coily hair. Styling products for coily hair: Afro stretch creme and shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie or giovanni leave in conditioner. The more you conditioner wash your hair the more moisturized your hair will become. Moisture leads to a looser curl pattern. Use ACV rinses once every two weeks.

I have definitely heard of some natural things that are supposed to relax curl, but i am totally lost as to what products are quality and have good potential to do what they claim.  I am definitely open to that option.  If you could recommend your top 3 natural products for loosening curl, I will definitely research them and try them out. If I can go chemical FREE, that is def what I want but my hair is VERY nappy (and I'm not exaggerating) Thank you in advance for any recommendations!!Smile

Awesome! Please rethink the textlaxing, this is still a relaxer. It just does not stay on your hair for long. I say this because there is still long term damage from these chemicals. You have paid a lot for this procedure, to mess it up with chemical relaxers. There are lots of natural products on the market that work to relax your natural curl pattern using plant extracts. Please check into these, you may have to try 2 or 3 different ones before finding the right fit. Remember that the natural products do not work as fast as the chemical ones, but many of them do work. And I can see that you have patience, from having this procedure done. So please look into other natural ways to relax your curl besides chemical relaxers. Look forward to your updates. Hey everyone!! Sorry I have not been back on here but I just got my internet back on and I was using my Android phone for internet n well....u kno how that is trying to go on blogs n what not. Anyway, it has been about 2 months and change.  Most people see growth anywhere from 3 to 5 months post procedure so I am being patient.  The transplanted hairs u see in the pic scab up and fall out within the first 2 wks after the procedure, however the root or follicle has already been locked into the scalp after the first 2 days (which is what is needed for your new hair to grow) u will look the same as u did b4 the procedure until the new hairs begin to sprout. so right now i have been continuing to shave my head so that when my new hairs come in, all my hair will start growing at the same time.

As far as protective styles for my new head of hair, i am seriously thinking that i am going to keep a low natural cut, and maybe textlax (sp) to loosen the curl just a tiny bit. I am getting used to the shape of my head and I damn sure am not trying to go back to bone straight relaxers bc thats wut messed me up in the first place, trying to make my hair do something it wasn't meant to do. Hopefully in the next 30 days I will have some progress pics of some growth for u ladies....i will definitely update as soon as i see progress.Thumbs Up

Big smileOkay so I usually post in the Body Types/Exercise Section but i thought I would share this here since it is relevant.  I am getting my entire body right for 2012 from head to toe. I've started exercising since I am 5 months post delivery. And I have always had thinning/bald temples since about age 12/13 from tight ass pony tails and then micro braids (relaxing right after), weaves, color, etc. I had tried EVERYTHING under the son from BHM and the internet and nothing worked so I decided I would get a hair transplant. However, I got the FUE method which is non invasive. They DO NOT cut you or use a scalpel of any sort. Recovery is only 2 days you cannot wear a wig or hat so I had it done on this past Fri so I would be off work Sat and Sun. Anyway it went very well!! practically no pain except for when they numb ur scalp w/ the needle (like at the dentist) I got 1500 grafts for $4500. I got a CARE CREDIT account so if i pay it off in 24 mos. there is no interest charged.  Growth is supposed to begin anywhere from 2 months on but can take up to a year. I have included B4 and after pics and will update as any growth occurs.  I have been sooooo insecure about this for years so I finally did sumthing about it. So to anyone thinking about doing this. You can PM me and I will answer any ques.  I a not a risk taker so trust me when I tell you this is nothing like the old strip method of hair transplantation.  I am so excited!
