Author: missfemme
Subject: 355293
Posted: Mar 01 2013 at 7:24pm

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my guinea pig experiment with you all, because before I did it I could find pretty much nothing at all on how to boil hair straight. I received a closure (from another vendor) that did NOT match my wags ns at ALL, it was a curly body wave. So I just boiled a pot of water with some olive oil and a few squirts of regular conditioner until it boiled, then for a while I tried leaving the closure (minus the lace) in the water for it to straighten out but it kept tangling so instead I pulled it straight and had my hubby wrap it in foil to keep it straight and left it curved in the pot for about 45 minutes. At the end of that time I just pulled it out and rinsed it with cold water. It came out super soft and after letting it air dry it came out to be the exact same wave pattern as my wagman ns. HTH. I will have pictures once I get finished with everything and I will just put up all the pics at once, of the hair, closure before and after, and install.

Oh and I forgot, I did NOT put the lace in the water because when you boil hair the dye will come out of the hair, and it WILL get on the lace and stain it dark. So be careful of that. Not an expert, just did a lot of research and I hope this helps someone else who needs to do the same thing.

Edited by missfemme - Mar 01 2013 at 7:25pm
