This is absolutely not a process that you should be doing with the weave hair still on your head. You will not be able to execute the steps properly, could risk damaging your own hair and finally, with the weave still being on your head, you are in waaaay too close proximity to the fumes which can be toxic to directly inhale. NO!

I did NOT use any ammonia either, just hot water and bleach (1 gall water and 1/4 cup bleach for 3 minutes) then shampoo and condition. I cannot believe the silkiness, it's better than when it was new. I'm wondering if the hair will return to its old ways soon? How temporary are the effects of a bleach bath?
Again, I did not even use the ammonia. First i thought it didnt work because the hair was very dry directly after but once conditioner hit it I knew the hair was absolutely NOT the same at all, it was so unbelievably soft, it was not half as soft when I got it!! There is no more of the horrendous tangling I was having but I hope it wont act up on my head.

This explains why my Hairaddict curls smell like bleach and ammonia every time I wash it. She must bleach bath the hair before sending it out.

Edited by ShadeTree - Apr 14 2011 at 10:15pm
