Even though your texture is different for the woman's that started this thread I think you could still use the suggestions provided to achieve your desired look without using heat.

Straw set?
Really small Nubian knots (smaller than the pic example)....making sure you flat twist the hair under the knot. Set under a dryer.

I'm preparing for an important photoshoot. How can I get my natural texture

I tried twistout but it creates an effect similar to this

rather than

which is what I'm going for.

Any ideas?
