today 

i washed my hair again today- cowashed with the remainder of my first bottle of V05 ever! 

discovered that i really love V05 and prefer it to Suave. it's so much silkier, almost akin to the results i get with mane n tail, except it's lighter in feel since MNT happens to contain protein. so it's my main condish of choice now. and i left in my aussie moist and twisted my hair into big twists, pinned up with hair pins. so in the morning i will proceed to undo them for a twistout that i hope will stay twistouty and not shrivel up like how my twistouts normally do. 

fingers crossed. i may post a pic of my twistout on my blog. 

oh, and i forgot to update by saying that i have a new blog. tangledtresses is no longer it, in part because i discovered that someone else already had a blog by that name on blogspot. *sideeye* but that's my fault for not doing my homework. 

so this blog i made SHO that no one else had, because it's long. as. HELL. lol

that's how you know we've all changed considerably because a year ago i wouldn't have given the plucking of my kinky ends much of a thought 

i remember looking at the breakage all over my counter and floor just last year this time and going "Hm..." and proceeding on with the blowdryer and flat iron like it was nothing. and it wasn't, to me, at the time. now? I think i'd die. Shoot, i be scrutinizing the one or two broken hairs i get now. 

ah, it's been so long since i last DCd. i now leave my condish in. i wonder if it's the same effect as DCing for others as it is for me? 

that would be some verrry fast growth. i wish my hair grew that fast.

it's not just you. it's been 2 and a half months since that trim i told yall about and my hair feel stagnant. it's weird because some parts reach my armpits already again...but other parts just feel like they're not growing because they're still a little before APL...so idk. we'll see in another few months i guess. i keep sayin i'ma stretch my washes and then i never do. my scalp starts callin. 

It's okay, you can do it! 

The only way i do a good job of keeping my hands out of my hair is when i've pinned it up into some kind of pinup style. i need to get back in the habit of doing that more consistently. i've tried the extensions, the wigs (purchased, anyway, never wore :( ) the minitwists or cornrows but i just can't stick with any of them for one reason or another. that's why i've been steering faaarrr clear of any of the protective style challenges i've been seeing - or at least those that don't grant you much room to get out of it or offset it somehow. My itchy scalp be callin me somethin fierce! 

i haven't done the end dust in a minute but i'm keeping an eye out for splits. so far so good, but i do see places where some ends are trying to fade white a little on me. here and there, and i'm guessing they are the love children of previously broken hairs. 

thanks for the update, queen sheba! You've made really great progress there! i can't wait to see how far you've come by December. I'm kinda envious actually, come to think of it.  i don't think my hair grows quite that fast. time to take my biotin, ASAP!

great! i'm doing most of what you said sans the vitamins. i'm thinking about giving biotin another go, but last time i took it for 45 straight days and the only difference i noticed was in my nails. this time if i attempt again i'm going to document, make sure it's not all in my head. 

your braids are gorgeous. those take me back to the nineties! it's rare to see braids anymore.

it's alright. i feel ya. i actually wash my hair every day, or sometimes every other day. i think it's helping my hair.

...hm. I'm not really sure. it's been a long time since i had to transition out of a perm, and when i did so i religiously wore my hair in  childish looking plaits and twists, since i was in middle school lol Lemme ask, tho, how long do you plan to transition for? I might be better able to advise that way, having a timeline. 

i totally tried to keep a hair journal and FAILED. miserably. how do you do it? er, do you still keep one?

I have not yet read through all the pages on this posting but i want to thank you all so much for continuing on with the challenge. I'm still in it, though i've had to modify my own personal length goals. However, i've got my blog up and going and i invite you all there to see comparison pictures as i get them in, as i'm gonna be photographing on a monthly basis just for motivation's and record's sake. More so just to get in the habit- because i know that if i wait several months i'm just going to totally forget  might as well be consistent, right? 

anyway, Since i deleted my last blog (long story, kind of. erm.) i can't remember exactly what the challenges i'd detailed out were. If anyone knows, please let me know! I know it wasn't like the challenges were anything too complicated, and odds are, most of you probably already do the things in the challenges anyway. But i just wanted to check in and let you guys know that we're all still going full speed ahead to December with the challenge! Only 4 months left! Stay strong.

Idk if you guys can tell, but i have a tattoo on my neck that extends just an inch past my neckline. it was just under neath that tatt where i cut my hair to....which means that by the looks of it...in the past two months my hair either grew really fast... as in, 2 inches (tho i find that hard to believe )

or more likely, i measured a little wrong at my last length check in July. 

whichever way, it's noticeably longer now, and i'm happy!
