Racism is a thing. And yet, at the end of the day, we still have to live our lives. Maybe everything, like racism can't be overcome, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. And in that case, does it really matter whether someone doesn't believe racism is the issue? Idk.

I think it matters because like any other problem, you have to realize the scope of a problem before you can solve it.  And I don't think a lot of people realize the actual impact of racism.  Or even really what it is.  Racism is so ingrained, it basically runs itself these days without the scary images we're used to from the not so distant past, even tho I know those are right under the surface.

Yes or when they say black people are racist.  Prejuidice?  Sure.  But until we control how things work and who gets what - and we DENY people because of what they are - they can miss me with that.

I guess I'm thinking...racism can't be solved/eradicated, either by individuals or communities.

So that being the case, then the only thing that really matters is doing the best you can with what you have. Recognize that racism is an issue, but that maybe in your particular circumstances, you're the issue and dealing with that would be more productive.

But idk. maybe not.

It's weird though bc MD will acknowledge racism in a thread so idk how she jumps from that to it can't be to blame in 2014...this is the last time i'm gonna bring her up though because she is making good on her word, she ain't got time for y'all.

lemme just go ahead and cosign all your statements from just reading pg 1-3

just came to requote Embarrassed

and to say i used to think like MD before i got educated (the irony) and ever since going back to uni my eyes have been opened in a way i never anticipated

i suggest those that think racism is over, isn't as bad and that we're absolutely free, please read and do some research on systematic/institutionalized racism...representation, prison industrial complex....there's so much...i'll even provide books to read

but i cannot accept the bs ppl spit....yes A LOT of fuccas stay making bad decisions but doing so in a system which already designed you to fail and do said things .....
there are so many levels to this sh*t and it took me a long time to truly understand the depths to which this statement is true..i'll never look at white ppl the same
