Both of these pics were taken this past Wednesday. It was my first time getting my hair flat ironed since being natural.

Nice!  How were you able to get your edges so smooth??

Thank you! I make sure that my hair is completely dry the root, then i take fine tooth comb and section my hair into tiny pieces to 'get the edges'. I only straighten the edges like that if I am going to an event or something. I normally leave more texture to the edge.

And one more question lol.  How long are you able to maintain your straight hair?  The middle of my head always reverts within a week.

I have 4a/4b hair, not exactly sure which. It's natural, and I used my mother's CHI to flat iron it. 

My curly wurlies freshly washed and dried:
