Yep, that's why I'm glad I waited to go back to college. I'm more focused, I work harder, I have better priorities. I just make better life decisions and it really all started when I turned 25-26. It's part of the reason why I think delaying college is better, I hate dealing with the mentality of fresh out of college 22-23 year olds in the workplace. |
That I part of me wishes I just would have completed college the first time. But at least now that I am doing this for myself, not my mother and them. I can focus but I go to school online so I don't have to deal with annoyances that come with going to a physical class room.
I'm much more of a homebody now though. The comfort of home means a lot and I'm rarely out unless it's required.

Okay you know how they say (they being niccas that do studies and such) that your brain aint fully developed until you get to be about 25...do y'all fee thats true? Yes Do y'all have waaaaaay more of your mental faculties than lets say, a 21/22 yr old? Hell yes. Are yall less ratchet and impulsive? Yes, especially when it came to our binge drinking parties. I look back on some of my other impulsive behavior and wonder 'praise oprah! Da hell was I thinking?'

Nah, I was way smarter in high school and college. Now I actually feel like I'm getting dumber.

One day I am overthinking, the next I'm doing something stupid on a whim.

it may just be because you are out of school. I felt the same way until I got back into college.

i feel a sense of clarity that i didn't feel before 25. i am not as concerned about being judged and i am more quick to make decisions i want to make without pucci-footing. i guess you can call that more impulsive but i'd rather not use that word...it's just that i'm more in tune with potential consequences so i can make a decision faster without being as concerned. i have less patience for things that don't make any sense.

I began to feel time very acutely....I realized that at least a quarter of my life had passed and I was not getting younger. i cut ppl out of my life that were not good for me. i stopped caring what ppl thought of me, and I let go of feelings that I "should" be doing/feeling/believing certain things. I really began to live for me. it was (and is) a really freeing process.
