The best way to deal with the unreasonable is to taze them.

That confirmed what I suspected. I worry for my students because a lot of them start drinking and smoking weed at least once or twice a week starting in middle school. The long-term effects on their brain function are going to be devastating...just looking at their parents it's obvious.
How do you deal with generations of people who can't learn/reason/etc?

though weed is reported to negatively impact development, there are a lot of former pot heads that are now successful members of our society
now of course their environment, peer group, and family play a major role as well...which leads to the second part of your post
idk the answer for that question

Oh definitely, regarding the bold. With support and intervention people with any sort of developmental issue can succeed. I'm just worried that when you've already slowed or incapacitated your brain development and then add a bad education, bad parenting, and whatever else...it's a recipe for disaster.

IA it all starts at home (kids) but you have to start with the adults in said home and if they aren't willing to change I'm not sure what you can do whole communities need to get fired up, want change and expect more from their neighbors and believe in themselves not an easy task

25 is around the time when I really began to consider the consequences of my actions. That "live fast, die young" mentality began to lose its appeal.
