It’s Thursday! And I’m serving up more fabulousness with today’s Style Suggestions.
Trina writes, “Hey Dolls! I
have two very exciting events coming in about three weeks. My father in
law is turning the big 5-0 and he is a riot. The place selected was his
favorite “City Island” in New York City. I need a comfortable yet chic
outfit for this occasion. The twist is that a few hours earlier my
brother in law is having a baby shower at church. I am in desperate need
of an outfit conservative enough for church and an outfit casual chic
enough for dinner later on that night. I love a black and white mixed
with blush for spring. I also love denim jeans and leather jackets. Please help!”
For a 2-for-1 wardrobe option, slip into a printed wrap dress uplifted by a pair of trendy cutout booties. A sparkly necklace and a soft pink lip and matching nail lacquer option give the look a feminine touch.
Since it is still a bit chilly in New York, opt for a pair of white skinnies topped by a Topshop gold flake knitted jumper. Swap the heels for a printed flat and throw a pair of sunnies in an over-sized tote.
Dress up a pair of jeans with a monochrome grid blouse, a black origami blazer, and a pair of Schutz Fiorenza sandals or a comfy striped flat.
Grab a black clutch and a beaded collar necklace to complete the look.
For a pretty in pink ensemble, pluck a pleated midi skirt, a skinny tailored blazer, and a white jersey top.
Mix prints with a L.K. Bennett shoulder bag and a pair of snake printed single sole heeled sandals to add some depth. And for a dash of shimmer, choose a Kate Spade Ready Set Pearl collar necklace and a pair of retro shades for the final touch.
Well I hope these looks give you the right combination of casual and
chic for both events. Wishing you lots of fun with your kin folk. Until
next week fashionistas…ciao!
