Going to meet my trainer in an hour for a new routine. Will be stepping on the scale. Those damn numbers had better budge downwards because I damn near killed myself exercising lately!

JP, how'd it go with the trainer?  I always hear about muscle confusion.  You're supposed to switch it up every 6 weeks right?

Pity, I blame at least half of my weight gain on my husband.  I know exactly what you mean.  Half the time I wouldn't even cook if he wasn't here.

Anyway, I think I'm becoming a soupie.  A slow cooker is a working mama's best friend.  The man and kids loved the 15 bean soup with sweet and red onion, garlic, bay leaves, celery, avocado, two chicken breasts, pepper and some liquid smoke.  I covered it all in chicken broth and slow cooked it about 6 hours.  YUM!!  Is all I have to say!  I took a small portion for work and savored every bite.

I did NOT drink enough water today though.  I didn't pee even once through a 12-hour shift smh  I'm working at it.

Workout was some Pilates at home.  I'm trying to hit the inner thighs real well.  Didn't lose any more pounds but honestly I just try to maintain on workdays.

Men are the worst. My husband is also naturally thin.  So he's weighed the same for 20 years. He apologized for bringing home this delicious bread pudding....which I've eaten...a lotOuch

didn't go to bootcamp after all. My tummy feels weird. 5 mile run tomorrow...bleh

Another day of working and no cardio but I am wearing some old scrubs that I couldn't fit a month ago SmileI been doing Pilates at home at night but tonight if my feet aren't killing me I might switch it up.  I like the P90X kickboxing work out so I'll either do that or drag my behind to the gym.  My gym bag is packed and in the car so I won't really have an excuse.

Go hard ladies and gents!!

**Pity my hubby is NOT naturally thin he's just greedy.  I think I'm rubbing off on him for a change because it's not even 6 a.m. and he's heading to the Y for some hoop.  I would love nothing more if he got healthier with me!

I'm trying to get in shape for Essence Festival!  I have a good headstart though - been going to bootcamp classes regularly since Oct. 15th.  The only problem is my eating - sweets mainly.  If I could get my eating down, I'd be SKRAAAAIIIIGHTTT.  I'm going to get serious now though, since I have two months.

Oh, does anybody have plantar fasciitis??  Something going on with the heel of my right foot.....

You Asked: ''Is It Safe to Wear Wrist or Ankle Weights While Walking or Exercising?''

SparkPeople's fitness experts advise against wearing wrist and ankle weights while doing cardio exercise and other general daily activities. Even though they are lightweight (usually two pounds or less), the risk of injuring yourself by wearing them far exceeds any potential added benefit (muscle strengthening or calorie burning) that you might achieve by wearing them.

Wrist and ankle weights can alter your normal movement patterns and gait, increasing the risk of injury. If burning more calories is your concern, try to step up the intensity of your workout by moving faster, longer or on an incline. If you must add weight to your workout, a weighted vest is a better idea because it helps distribute that added weight more evenly and allows you to move more freely and normally than you can with weights attached to your extremities.

However, wrist and ankle weights are far from useless. While we don't recommend wearing them during cardio or walking, you can strap on those ankle weights to perform strength-training exercises such as leg raises, calf raises or other leg exercises. You can also wear wrist weights and do bicep curls, shoulder raises or triceps extensions, for example. Just make sure you're exercising in good form and in a slow, controlled manner. These options are especially useful for people who have trouble gripping weights or using their hands.

I'm not currently working so it gives me the time to fit in two workouts when I want to.

[QUOTE=ThatGurlD] JP, how'd it go with the trainer?  I always hear about muscle confusion.  You're supposed to switch it up every 6 weeks right[QUOTE]

One measly pound. That's all I lost. Blood, sweat and tears for 2 weeks for 1 measly pound. I am so discouraged I cried yesterday :( Trainer said it's harder for me to lose because of the medications I'm taking and age.
I see her every 2 weeks and she adjusts my workout. Sometimes it's subtle changes, sometimes it's an overhaul. I just paid for 7 meetings with a nutritionist to see if I can get over this (I had been following Weight Watchers to a T). These sessions are costing me a mint too. If I don't see better results soon, I'll be more likely to give up. I worked incredibly hard for such meager results. I'm contemplating a starvation diet. I'm supposed to go to the gym today and I don't know how I'm gonna haul my butt over there. I'm feeling low...
