So this is day 7 and I'm down 12 pounds. My husband noticed my stomach is flatter and actually commented (he's not one for words). I do feel my immune system is not up to par as well as feeling quite fatigued at times. Good points are the weight is going, I feel pretty good and working out has not been a problem. I'm not moody or grumpy and have zero cravings whatsoever. No alcohol or soda or fast food and no desire.
I want to mention that I am under a doctor's supervision because what I'm doing is a little on the extreme side. Has anyone watched the Netflix documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead?" Well that really inspired me. I have gained 55 lbs in the almost 10 years I've been married. Part of it was having kids, moving less and quitting smoking and gaining the ability to taste. I've been really depressed about the weight and started having a health issue that I was not about to deal with.
Also, my family history includes heart disease and heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, stroke and early death in multiple females on both sides from heart failure and cancer (paternal grandmother 37, paternal aunt 42, maternal grandmother 58, maternal aunt 36). I know my family members weren't keen on going to a doctor for much and received too-late treatment or none at all.
I'm 33 today and as this birthday was approaching and I was feeling generally not like my healthy self, I decided to do something more drastic and it's working for me. I see my naturopath today and hopefully he can make a recommendation for an immune booster. I do have ashwagandha, a powder I get from the food co-op to help with panic (something I've recently been dealing with with my parents life-threatening illnesses) and it has some other uses that might be helpful.
Anyway I wanted to make this post because my results are not typical. No pills or fancy diets just 400-800 calories a day. Here's a little video that is short and simple. My goal is to go through phases 1 and 2 and then work with my doc to develop a plan to never gain the weight back.
I see him at 11 today so I'll see what he says.
