She's never going to forgive herself for this...just tragic.

I had to hold my chest and rock for a bit. Can't even imagine the guilt she must feel.

Being a parent you make mistakes.  I get that.  And some mistakes can be stupid. I get that too.

But standing your kid on a railing is tantamount to criminal negligence IMO.  Wouldn't charge her, tho.  She paid a high price for her stupidity already.

I just read that the medical examiner declared that it was the dogs and not the fall that killed him.  They needed to establish that so that the family can't sue for the railing being "faulty" or craziness like that.

I mean with a gate or glass. That would not prevent people from seeing the animals.

I have to apologize for being mean, but the mother would be a strong contender for a Darwin award if they're still being handed out.  Not only did she put her son on the railing, but did she not realize that not only were the dogs there, but that there was a 14 ft drop??  Angry

Most animal exhibitions I've seen dont have that.
I really don't see any fault the zoo had in this.

I'm gonna look at the reenactment again

There were 14 feet up in an enclosure separating them from the dogs.
I see what you mean like glass on the enclosure?

But the mama gets all the blame here

people do it because they want to make sure that their kids can see. When I take my son to the zoo you see it at every animal exhibit. I carry my son on my shoulders so he an see over everyone else.

I understand the concept. Doesn't change the fact that it is stupid.
