Then a lot of kumbaya about how we are all unified, one American people.

I felt like he was kind of choking the words out, like he wasn't saying what he wanted to say but what he had to say.

I can't expect Obama to roll up to a press conference all pro-black, fight the power. That's our job. His job is to execute his influence to delegate efficiently. For all we know heads could be rolling behind the scenes about how this is being mishandled.

im not sure why

he's not standing again

Because he essentially is "the power." He can't sneeze without someone trying to impeach him as it is now. We voted him in to represent us in those meetings where decisions are made, where we don't have reach. And we all know white people stop listening when they think we're not speaking their language. That's why we have been trained to code switch our whole lives. So people can take us seriously so that we can get to the places where we can genuinely influence change and power.

Please understand I am not excusing him from doing his duty. I'm saying how he goes about it may not look like I'd like it to right now but I have no choice but to stop looking at him and look at what WE can do. I am not in his position. Wouldn't want to be. We may or may never hear about what happens in those meetings, whether they are for us or against us. But what we CAN do is see how we can affect change where we are. Obama can't do everything.

Obama cant do everything but Obama ain't doing a damn thing.

Let the white gays be under attack and see how quickly he runs to their aid.

Sad to see him so weak.

Afro are you saying that we should pass the responsibility of all of America's social change onto him?

Without stepping up in our own communities?
