lol this excuse is so played out...ain't enough black businesses for us to even be telling niccas don't work for themselves...trust me, we have more than enough people that don't want to be bosses..u might can't do it or not want too..but please stop telling others they can't

Everybody can't do it though.....it's not an excuse.
Most of the people that can are or will.
My dad is a black business owner so.....I know it can be done.

lol well the story is terrible! he's out here scamming ppl! and his wife won't work! i think he was doing subprime mortgages for awhile. i know he wanted to start a cleaning business but refused to actually clean himself...idk

but i know other examples of people doing great with businesses. my dad owned several businesses, restaurants and retail, when he was in Haiti.

i have a prof. who is really pro business and is always sending emails about stuff.  i actually need to talk to him and pick his brain

Yeah I agree with pity, we need people who are satisfied with having a job. How are we gonna have businesses with no employees? lol just saying

Word?

I think the idea was to say that being an entrepreneur is a mindset just as much as it is about knowledge and execution. You can build your self to be one, just like you can train your self to eat healthy.... but its a choice. when you think of things in such a linear format ...that can be so stifling. Hell people out here building careers off of being "stylist"

saying that everyone is an entrepreneur isn't a lie. Saying that everyone doesn't make that choice is what you might be getting at...

I was always told that you have to invest in yourself when working for a company so when he said to start treating yourself as an entr-employee to me was valuable advice.

The full quote for the cheap seats
Quote Some people can say, “well, I’m just not an entrepreneur.”

This is not true. Everyone is an entrepreneur. The only skills you need to be an entrepreneur: an ability to fail, an ability to have ideas, to sell those ideas, to execute on those ideas, and to be persistent so even as you fail you learn and move onto the next adventure. Or be an entrepreneur at work. An “entre-ployee.” Take control of who you report to, what you do, what you create. Or start a business on the side. Deliver some value, any value, to anybody, to somebody, and watch that value compound into a career.

i read it oodles but many people are risk adverse.  i am all for being entrepreneurial...i would love to have my own business in something...but i do not think it for everyone

and this do not save is laughable. there are other methods of savings besides a 401k and most ppl who own small businesses are NOT raking in large sums of money! they are struggling as well! This article makes is seem that the ONLY way to invest in yourself is to be an entrepreneur. i do not believe that is true. Below is a lie!!

7) Your Retirement Plan is For sh*t. I don’t care how much you set aside for your 401k. It’s over. The whole myth of savings is gone. Inflation will carve out the bulk of your 401k. And in order to cash in on that retirement plan you have to live for a really long time doing stuff you don’t like to do. And then suddenly you’re 80 and you’re living a reduced lifestyle in a cave and can barely keep warm at night.

The only retirement plan is to Choose Yourself. To start a business or a platform or a lifestyle where you can put big chunks of money away.
